Johnny Moore

Among the Drifters' lead singers, Clyde McPhatter was the founder and arguably the most well known, Ben E. King was the one who redefined their sound for the 1960s, and Rudy Lewis the one who sang on the hits that kept their sound current and popular into the mid-'60s. Johnny Moore, however, was the singer who lasted longest with the Drifters as a performing unit, if not a major recording act. He was also the only member of the group to span both of the group's major eras.
