Album Review

This single CD costs a third the price of the double-CD MCA set All I Ever Need, and is the preferable alternative in almost every respect. Eight of the 16 tracks are hits or B-sides by Cher from 1971-1974, interspersed with the biggest hits by Sonny & Cher from the same period. The failed singles like "Classified 1A" are not represented, but good B-sides like "I Hate to Sleep Alone" are, along with the live version of "I Got You Babe" from their second Live in Las Vegas album. The notes (edited from the double-disc booklet) are thorough, the sound is excellent, and the only drawback is the absence of any of the comic repartee that sparked their interaction.
